Scott Alumbaugh

OCSC instructor - Scott Alumbaugh

Scott left his law practice and joined OCSC as an instructor in 1996. He has a 100 ton Coast Guard Masters license, and is a US Sailing certified Coastal Passagemaking Instructor. Scott has cruised the west coast from Point Reyes to southern Mexico, and has led OCSC flotillas in Greece and the Sea of Cortez. He joined OCSC's management team in 1998, and more recently, has been primarily responsible for OCSC's publications, including this website.

I began sailing in my 30's, and it's no exaggeration to say it has had a significant impact in my life. I enjoy teaching others who, like me, look to sailing as a means of stepping out of their day-to-day routine. It's great to help them realize their sailing dreams.
