OCSC: Why do you sail?!
GH: I've always loved the water...but is there life before sailing? I love the feeling of being able to get the boat to do what you want, or rather work with it to do so, and of course the wind and sun, and getting 'there and back again'.
OCSC: What do you enjoy about working at OCSC?
GH: I like the camaraderie with my co-workers and the satisfaction of helping students become confident in their skills and perhaps discovering new and unexpected aspects to their makeup.
OCSC: What's your sailing background?
GH: I learned to sail when I went to University in London. I raced on Long Island Sound, but really got serious when I joined Cal Sailing Club , became a Senior Skipper and Rating Commitee member. I raced a number of seasons, and have been at OCSC 7 years.
