OCSC: Why do you sail?

IL: Sailing has the unparalleled potential to bring us closer to nature and uniquely connect us with mankind; besides, it is a lot of fun.

OCSC: What do you enjoy about working at OCSC?

IL: I enjoy being involved in the process of discovery that new and experienced sailors undergo here. The level of enthusiasm at the club is great and being affiliated with the OCSC instructor team is a priviledge.

OCSC: What's your sailing background?

IL: I grew up rowing, windsurfing and sailing in Croatia, where my family owned a little boat. I moved to the US in the early 90s and felt the need to be near the water. After discovering the West Coast, I immediately got involved with sailing again.

OCSC: When you're not sailing, what can we find you doing?

IL: Working as an engineer / technologist, working on my boat or spending time outdoors with family and friends.

OCSC: What are your top five sailing books of all time?

IL: I would try to pick-up anything by Patrick O'Brian... and I can also make a couple of recommendations in Croatian (Joza Horvat's Waitapu and Operacija 'Stonoga').
