Born in San Francisco in the late 50's, Eric was sailing the Bay with his father before he learned to walk. Beginning with El Toro's on Oakland's Lake Merritt in the 60's, he graduated to OK Dinghies at the St. Francis Yacht Club in the 70's. He started teaching in both dinghies and keelboats at the Cal Sailing Club in the 80's, and since the summer of 1997, has been instructing and sailing skippered charters with OCSC. For recreation, Eric has raced vessels ranging from single hand centerboard sailboats to 40+ foot yachts.
A UC Brekeley graduate, Eric has been involved in education for most of his professional life. Having spent nearly a decade as a school teacher in Richmond, and several more years as a full time flight instructor, he currently divides his time between sailing and free-lance flight instruction. Although Eric will probably never tire of plying the waters of the San Francisco Bay, his long term goals include pursuing more offshore oppurtunities and exploring various cruising destinations, local and faraway.
