Biography

Sailing has always been a way for me to leave the stresses of everyday life behind and commune with nature and the elements. I was taught to sail by my father when I was still in the single digits age wise. For many summers, we toured the midwest racing a variety of high performance boats called Scows. I loved the challenge of competing against other sailors on the water, and the camaraderie of eating and drinking with them and comparing notes when we got back on shore. I have sailed competitively all around the United States for most of my adult life and have centered many vacations around sailing adventures. I am a member of the San Francisco Yacht Club and race and pleasure sail my J109 on the Bay. After a 30 year Wall Street career, I joined OCSC in order to be able to spend more time on the water and to have the opportunity to share my love of sailing with students and other staff members. I love the commitment that OCSC has to safety and making sure that students are having fun, and learning the proper techniques that will allow them to sail any boat, anywhere in the world.
