Courses

In Seamanship Under Sail, you leave the outboard motor behind and learn how to get out of a tight bind under sail power.

This course requires Basic Cruising

Seamanship Under Sail is a pure sailing course – no motoring allowed. Learn to perform traditional sailboat skills such as docking, anchoring, and mooring under sail. Improve your confidence and skill by practicing technical and "out of the box" maneuvers such as sailing blindfolded, steering by sails alone, getting in and out of irons, and sailing backwards at speed.

You will develop a sense of the limits between the boat and yourself as you practice precision. You will work on close-quarters sailing and decision-making while problem solving. You will learn to be creative with your boat handling using advanced skills to recover from a variety of tight situations with complete confidence.
