Sea of Cortez Sailing Adventure Sea of Cortez Sailing Adventure Sea of Cortez Sailing Adventure

Join us aboard the 82' Schooner Seaward, heading south along the Pacific coast to warm weather, endless beaches and friendly people on a sailing adventure you'll never forget. While improving navigation and sailing skills, you'll also get the chance to explore local Mexican markets, practice Spanish, catch fish of the day, watch and study the abundant sea life and whales, swim and just relax.

Puerto Vallarta: The Protected Waters of the Banderas Bay

From Puerto Vallarta we set sail to explore Banderas Bay, the largest natural bay in Mexico. With an ideal climate and semi-protected waters, Banderas Bay sailing is as good as it gets. The bay offers many beautiful anchorages such as Punta Mita with miles of beaches, and Yelapa, a small fishing village with great beach restaurants and hikes into the jungle, all within easy day sails. The Islas Marietas have the best snorkeling, along with caves to explore and more. There will be time to learn new sailing skills, navigation, and what it is like to cruise Mexico.

A Great Experience and Excellent Value
  • Voyaging under sail with a small, compatible group (typically ten participants and four crew) so you get to know your shipmates and form friendships based on our common experience.
  • Traveling to remote, pristine destinations means steering clear of the ‘tourist traps’ and crowded cities, and when you arrive as a single yacht, you’ll be able to experience the warm hospitality of the Mexican people.
  • Living aboard a comfortable, safe, well-appointed schooner allows you to do things at your own pace – taking the helm, handling sails, assisting in navigation, or just relaxing in a hammock on the spacious foredeck.
  • Seeking out wildlife of pristine places like the Channel Islands, Baja’s Pacific coast and the Sea of Cortés: gray whales, humpbacks, giant manta rays, hammerhead sharks, and one of the largest collections of migratory seabirds on the planet.
  • Learning new skills, including natural history, geology, marine mammals and traditional sailors’ arts – all in an informal, supportive atmosphere where you can learn what you choose, at your own pace.
